Tsunmeter - Point Marker

Tsunmeter is a very useful tool for both of acupuncture students and advanced therapists.

Tsunmeter allows to determine the Cun’s length of an individual with any body size. The meter can scale the measured length in the range of 0,5 Cun, 1 Cun, 1,5 Cun or 2 Cun.

Size

Tsunmeter has two arms. The length of the long arm is 17,5 cm and the length of the short arm is 7,5 cm.

What is Cun

Cun is a length measurement unit used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. One Cun corresponds to the length of the middle phalanx of the index finger or the width of the thumb at its widest point. Cun is spelt as Tsun in Wade–Giles romanization system.

How to use Tsunmeter

The meter should be adjusted for making 1 Cun equal to the length of the middle phalanx of the index finger or the width of the thumb at its widest point. The adjusted meter additionally shows the length of 0,5 Cun, 1,5 Cun and 2 Cun.

• The distance between the centres of the clavicles is 8 Cun

• The distance from the scapula to the centre of the body is 8 Cun

• The distance between the armpit and the elbow is 9 Cun
