We talk about histamine intolerance when the body is unable to metabolize its releases in the body, precisely due to the low activity of the DAO enzyme. Low DAO levels are often associated with the occurrence of SIBO, low body mineralization or intestinal dysbiosis. That is why it is so important to pay attention to a balanced supply of antioxidants, specific minerals or vitamins allowed in the diet in the process of treating histamine intolerance.

It is worth knowing that to achieve full DAO activity, an appropriate level of vitamins is needed, such as: B12, B6 or copper. Additionally, zinc, which is needed to activate vitamin B6, which in turn supports the DAO enzyme in the breakdown of histamine. The next parameter is ferritin, which is responsible for iron management in the body, as well as vitamin D levels. If these parameters are not normalized, a relative DAO deficiency and related symptoms of histamine intolerance may occur.

Low-histamine nutrition, due to the relatively poor range of products, does not have to be a sentence, but a tasty adventure.
