The Jade stand for moxa cones serves as a spacer for the wooden stand. The set makes an excellent tool for moxotherapy. The stand is made of polished jade, which gently heats up in contact with the burning moxa, the wooden rim has a steel mesh that protects the body from ash and burning moxa.
Jade stand has a diameter of 7 cm and height of 2 cm. Inner diameter of the opening is 3 cm.
Wooden base has a diameter of 5,5 cm and 1,5 cm height
The stand should be placed on the selected acupuncture point. Moxa should be placed on the metal mesh and shaped into a cone, then ignited (e.g. with an incense).
To strengthen the effect of moxa, it is good to place a slice of ginger, onion or garlic under the moxa cone.
When the moxa burns out, the stand should be removed carefully in a way that the hot ash doesn't fall onto a patient's body.
Moxatherapy, also known as moxibustion or thermopuncture, is a traditional Chinese medicine procedure that involves heating acupuncture points with the help of burning moxa. Heating the points in a specific way is designed to stimulate the flow of Qi vital energy in the meridians: unblocking its stagnation, dispersing excesses or harmonizing disturbances. Moxatherapy is sometimes used as a supplement for acupuncture, but it can also be successfully used separately.
